Marketing, Magic, & The Messy Middle: Wickedly Branded
About Marketing, Magic & the Messy Middle: Wickedly Branded®
Marketing, Magic & the Messy Middle: Wickedly Branded® is a conversational podcast for women building businesses with purpose, impact, and heart.
Hosted by Brand Evolution Strategist Beverly Cornell, each episode feels less like an interview and more like sitting down for coffee with brilliant women who are creating meaningful change in the world.
Every conversation explores four themes:
✨ The Spark
What inspired the guest to start their business, pursue their calling, or make a pivotal change in their life or career.
🌀 The Messy Middle
The challenges, pivots, failures, lessons, and unexpected moments that shaped their journey. The part of entrepreneurship we don’t talk about enough.
📣 Marketing & Visibility
How they share their message, build trust, grow their audience, and navigate the realities of showing up in today’s world.
👑 Legacy
The impact they hope to leave behind, the change they’re creating, and what matters most as they continue to evolve.
Beverly is known for bringing warmth, curiosity, and genuine connection to every conversation. Rather than following a rigid interview format, she shares stories, reflections, and insights alongside her guests, creating authentic discussions that feel relatable, inspiring, and deeply human.
And yes, there may occasionally be a magic wand involved.
Because building a business is serious work, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun along the way.
What guests can expect: A relaxed, conversational experience. I love asking thoughtful questions, sharing observations, and exploring the real stories behind the business. My goal is to create a space where guests feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated while sharing lessons that will inspire our audience.

Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the Spark and Ignite Your Marketing Podcast. I'm your host, Beverly Cornell. And in this episode, we're diving into the top five social media trends that service based businesses absolutely cannot ignore in 2024, whether you run a dental practice, a candle making store, a doggie daycare, a holistic vet, or a chiropractic office. These trends will help you stay competitive and engaged with your Target customer. Let's get started. First up short form video content. This is platforms like TikTok and Instagram reels and YouTube shorts are exploding in popularity. People love those quick, engaging videos that you can watch. on the go from your phone. For example, a doggy daycare could post fun clips of playful pups to showcase their facilities, while a candle making store could share quick tutorials or behind the scenes looks at of their process. Short form videos are a fantastic way to engage your audience and show off what makes your business truly unique. Next, we have social commerce. This is where social media meets. It's online shopping platforms like Instagram and Facebook are making it easier than ever to shop directly from the apps. Think of it as a window shopping experience in the digital age. For instance, a holistic vet clinic could use Instagram shops to offer natural pet products and a dental office could showcase their cosmetic services and allow clients to book consultations directly through Facebook. The social media app. Third on our list is the rise of private communities. As public social media spaces become more crowded and more noisy, people are seeking more intimate private spaces to connect. This includes Facebook groups, discord communities, and even private Instagram accounts. A chiropractor could create a private Facebook group to share wellness tips and engage with patients while a candle making store might host exclusive virtual workshops for their loyal customers. Our fourth trend is influencer marketing 2. 0. Influencers are no longer just about big names with millions of followers. Micro and nano influencers who have a smaller but very highly engaged and targeted audience are proving to be incredibly effective. They offer authenticity and a closer connection with their followers. A doggy daycare might partner with a local pet influencer to spread the word about their services, while a holistic vet could collaborate with health and wellness influencers who align with their holistic And wellness values. Finally, let's talk about augmented reality. AR. AR is enhancing the ways consumers interact with brands on social media. From virtual try ons to interactive filters, AR is making the online experience more immersive and fun. A candle making store could use AR to let customers see how different candle colors and styles will look in their home. Or a dentist could use AR to show potential results of cosmetic procedures like teeth whitening services. So let's recap. The top five social media trends service based businesses can't ignore in 2024 are short form video content, Social Commerce, Private Communities, Influencer Marketing 2. 0, and Augmented Reality.
